Our practice now has a AED (Automated External Defibrillator)

Little Practice Big Heart

Recently our practice was lucky enough to win a AED through St Johns Ambulance Australia. Its now been installed and we have had our training to use this device.

As per the St John’s Ambulance Website, access to an AED during sudden cardiac arrest can make a life saving difference.

Using a defibrillator combined with CPR can increase survival rates during sudden cardiac arrest by up to 70%.

Some of these defibrillators are available in the wider community and will talk you through the steps if you ever need to use one.  The defibrillators are designed to check if the heart needs shocking and wont shock if not required.
